History
West Hamburg, Pennsylvania is a small borough located in Berks County, Pennsylvania. It is situated in the southeastern corner of the county, just north of the city of Reading. The borough was founded in 1845 and was originally known as Hamburg. The name was changed to West Hamburg in 1876 to distinguish it from the nearby borough of Hamburg.

The borough is bordered to the north by the city of Reading, to the east by the borough of Hamburg, to the south by the borough of Shillington, and to the west by the borough of Wyomissing.
The borough covers an area of 1.2 square miles and is located at an elevation of 441 feet above sea level. The terrain is mostly flat, with some rolling hills. The climate is humid continental, with hot summers and cold winters.
