Geography
Roulette is located at 41°45'N 78°2'W (41.75, -78.03). According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2), all of it land.
History
Roulette was founded in 1845 by a group of settlers from New York. The town was named after the game of roulette, which was popular at the time. The first post office was established in 1848.
The borough was incorporated in 1876. In the late 19th century, Roulette was a thriving lumber town. The lumber industry declined in the early 20th century, and the town's population began to decline.
Economy
Roulette's economy is largely based on agriculture and tourism. The town is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a restaurant.

As of the 2010 census, there were 1,093 people, 441 households, and 287 families residing in the borough. The population density was 1,817.3 people per square mile (700.3/km2). There were 486 housing units at an average density of 807.3 per square mile (311.3/km2). The racial makeup of the borough was 97.7% White, 0.2% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.7% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.7% of the population.
There were 441 households, out of which 28.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.2% were married couples living together, 11.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.7% were non-families. 30.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 15.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 3.06.
In the borough, the population was spread out, with 24.7% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 17.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 males.
The median income for a household in the borough was $30,000, and the median income for a family was $35,000. Males had a median income of $30,000 versus $20,000 for females. The per capita income for the borough was $14,000.
