Roulette Summary

Roulette is a borough located in Potter County, Pennsylvania. It is situated in the northwestern part of the state, approximately 30 miles from the New York border. The population of Roulette was 1,093 at the 2010 census.

Geography

Roulette is located at 41°45'N 78°2'W (41.75, -78.03). According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2), all of it land.

History

Roulette was founded in 1845 by a group of settlers from New York. The town was named after the game of roulette, which was popular at the time. The first post office was established in 1848.
The borough was incorporated in 1876. In the late 19th century, Roulette was a thriving lumber town. The lumber industry declined in the early 20th century, and the town's population began to decline.

Economy

Roulette's economy is largely based on agriculture and tourism. The town is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, and a restaurant.
