Landisburg Borough is a small borough located in Perry County, Pennsylvania. It is situated in the western part of the county, approximately 10 miles west of the county seat of New Bloomfield. The borough is surrounded by Tyrone Township to the north, northeast, and east, and by Carroll Township to the south and southwest. The population of Landisburg Borough was 545 at the 2010 census.
History
Landisburg was founded in 1817 by John Landis, a German immigrant who had purchased the land from the state of Pennsylvania. The town was originally known as Landis' Crossroads, and was later renamed Landisburg. The town was incorporated as a borough in 1851.
The town was an important stop on the Cumberland Valley Railroad, which ran through the town from 1837 to 1971. The railroad was a major factor in the growth of the town, as it provided a means of transportation for goods and people.
Geography

There were 221 households, out of which 28.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.6% were married couples living together, 9.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.9% were non-families. 29.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.47 and the average family size was 3.06.
In the borough, the population was spread out, with 24.2% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 17.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 males.
