Herndon borough Summary

Herndon Borough is a small borough located in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. It is situated in the Susquehanna Valley, approximately 20 miles northwest of Harrisburg. The borough was incorporated in 1876 and has a population of approximately 1,000 people.

History

Herndon Borough was founded in 1876 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Sunbury. The settlers were looking for a place to settle and build a community. The town was named after the Herndon family, who were among the first settlers. The Herndon family had a long history in the area, having been among the first settlers in the area in the late 1700s.
