Gouldsboro Summary

Gouldsboro is a small borough located in northeastern Pennsylvania in the United States. It is situated in the Pocono Mountains region of the state, and is part of Wayne County. The population of Gouldsboro was 1,845 at the 2010 census.

History

Gouldsboro was founded in 1820 by William Gould, a Revolutionary War veteran. The town was originally known as Gouldsborough, but the name was changed to Gouldsboro in 1845. The town was incorporated in 1851.
Gouldsboro was a popular summer resort destination in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The town was home to several large hotels, including the Gouldsboro Hotel, which was built in 1875 and was the largest hotel in the area. The hotel was destroyed by fire in 1915.

Gouldsboro is located in northeastern Pennsylvania in the Pocono Mountains region. It is situated in Wayne County, and is bordered by the towns of Lehigh Township to the north, Salem Township to the east, and Coolbaugh Township to the south and west.
