Corry Summary

Corry is a city located in Erie County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 6,605 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Erie Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

Corry was founded in 1866 by William Corry, a local businessman. The city was named after him. Corry was incorporated as a borough in 1869 and as a city in 1873.
Corry was an important railroad center in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The Corry Junction Railroad Depot was built in 1882 and served as a major hub for the Erie Railroad. The depot was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Corry is located at 41°54'25" North, 79°45'45" West (41.906833, -79.7625). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.2 square miles (5.7 km2), all of it land.
