Baden Borough is a small borough located in Beaver County, Pennsylvania. It is situated along the Ohio River, approximately 25 miles northwest of Pittsburgh. The borough has a population of approximately 1,400 people and covers an area of 0.6 square miles.
History
Baden Borough was founded in 1838 by a group of German immigrants who had settled in the area. The name of the borough is derived from the German city of Baden-Baden. The borough was incorporated in 1867 and has remained relatively unchanged since then.
The borough was originally a farming community, but in the late 19th century, it began to develop into an industrial center. The first industry to be established in the borough was a glass factory, which opened in 1876. This was followed by a steel mill in 1883 and a brickyard in 1885. These industries provided employment for many of the borough’s residents and helped to spur economic growth.
