Maybee Summary

Maybee is a small village located in Monroe County, Michigan. It is situated on the banks of the River Raisin, about 25 miles southwest of Detroit. The village has a population of about 1,000 people and is part of the Frenchtown Township.

History

Maybee was founded in 1837 by a group of French-Canadian settlers. The village was named after the French word for “maybe”, which was used to describe the uncertain future of the settlement. The settlers were attracted to the area due to its fertile soil and abundant natural resources.
