Lambertville is a city located in Monroe County, Michigan, United States. The population was 8,817 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Toledo Metropolitan Area and the larger Detroit-Ann Arbor-Flint Combined Statistical Area.
History
Lambertville was first settled in 1836 by William Lambert, a veteran of the War of 1812. The settlement was originally known as Lambertville Station, as it was a stop on the Michigan Central Railroad. The village was incorporated in 1867, and the name was changed to Lambertville in 1871.
Geography
Lambertville is located at 41°44'17" North, 83°37'17" West (41.738, -83.621). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.2 square miles (13.4 km2), all land.
Economy
Lambertville is home to several large employers, including the Monroe County Road Commission, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, and the Monroe County Health Department. The city is also home to several small businesses, including restaurants, retail stores, and professional services.

As of the census of 2010, there were 8,817 people, 3,541 households, and 2,521 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,711.2 people per square mile (661.2/km2). There were 3,817 housing units at an average density of 739.2 per square mile (285.3/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 94.2% White, 1.7% African American, 0.3% Native American, 1.2% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 0.9% from other races, and 1.6% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.2% of the population.
There were 3,541 households, out of which 33.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.2% were married couples living together, 11.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.2% were non-families. 25.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.50 and the average family size was 3.00.
In the city, the population was spread out, with 25.2% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 25.2% from 45 to 64, and 13.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 males.
