Dryden Summary

Dryden is a small village located in Lapeer County, Michigan. It is situated on the banks of the Flint River, approximately 25 miles north of Detroit. The village has a population of 1,845 people, according to the 2010 census.

History

The area that is now Dryden was first settled in 1837 by a group of settlers from New York. The village was originally known as “Drydenville” and was named after the Dryden family, who were among the first settlers. The village was incorporated in 1867.
