Dublin Summary

Dublin, Virginia is a small town located in the southwestern part of the state, in Pulaski County. It is situated along the New River, and is part of the New River Valley region. The town has a population of approximately 2,000 people, and is the county seat of Pulaski County.

History

The area that is now Dublin was first settled in the late 1700s by a group of Scots-Irish immigrants. The town was originally known as “New Dublin”, and was officially incorporated in 1820. The town was named after the city of Dublin, Ireland, and was the first town in the United States to be named after the Irish capital.
