Paris, Texas is a city located in Lamar County, Texas, United States. It is situated in the northeast corner of the state, approximately 100 miles northeast of Dallas. The population of Paris was 25,171 at the 2010 census, making it the largest city in Lamar County.
History
The area around Paris was first settled in the early 1840s by a group of settlers from the United States and France. The town was named after Paris, France, and was incorporated in 1845. The city was an important trading center for the region, and was the site of the first cotton gin in Lamar County.
In the late 19th century, Paris was a major railroad hub, with the Texas and Pacific Railway, the St. Louis and Southwestern Railway, and the Paris and Mount Pleasant Railway all running through the city. The city was also home to a large number of manufacturing plants, including a cotton mill, a flour mill, and a furniture factory.

Paris is located at 33°38'N 95°44'W (33.633, -95.737). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 16.2 square miles (41.8 km2), of which 16.1 square miles (41.6 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km2) (0.62%) is water.

Paris is a major economic center for the region, with a diverse economy that includes manufacturing, retail, healthcare, and education. The city is home to several large employers, including Tyson Foods, Walmart, and Paris Regional Medical Center.

Hispanic or Latino of any race were 13.2% of the population.
There were 9,945 households, out of which 30.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.2% were married couples living together, 16.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.2% were non-families. 30.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 13.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.45 and the average family size was 3.04.
In the city, the population was spread out, with 25.2% under the age of 18, 9.7% from 18 to 24, 26.3% from 25 to 44, 22.2% from 45 to 64, and 16.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females, there were 88.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 84.2 males.
