Miles, Texas is a small town located in Runnels County, Texas. It is situated about 25 miles south of Abilene and about 100 miles west of Fort Worth. The town was founded in 1881 and was named after a local rancher, William Miles. The population of Miles was 1,092 in the 2010 census.

Geography

Miles is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 83 and State Highway 158. It is situated in the rolling hills of the Edwards Plateau, which is part of the Great Plains region. The terrain is mostly flat with some rolling hills. The climate is semi-arid with hot summers and mild winters. The average annual precipitation is about 20 inches.
