Frost Summary

Frost, Texas is a small town located in Navarro County, Texas, United States. It is situated about halfway between Dallas and Waco, and is part of the Corsicana Micropolitan Statistical Area. The population of Frost was estimated to be 1,093 in 2019.

History

Frost was founded in 1881 by a group of settlers from Kentucky. The town was named after a local landowner, John Frost. The first post office was established in 1882, and the town was incorporated in 1884.
Frost was a thriving agricultural community in the early 1900s, with cotton, corn, and wheat being the main crops. The town also had a number of businesses, including a bank, a hotel, a blacksmith shop, and a general store.
In the 1920s, the town began to decline as the Great Depression hit the area. Many of the businesses closed, and the population decreased.
In the 1940s, the town began to experience a resurgence as the economy improved. The population increased, and new businesses opened. The town also became a popular tourist destination, with many people visiting to enjoy the small-town atmosphere.
