Cresson is a small town located in Hood County, Texas, United States. It is situated about 25 miles southwest of Fort Worth and is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area. The population of Cresson was 1,092 at the 2010 census.

History

Cresson was founded in 1881 by the Texas and Pacific Railway. The town was named after the Cresson family, who were early settlers in the area. The town was incorporated in 1883 and was the first town in Hood County to be incorporated.
In the early 1900s, Cresson was a thriving community with a population of over 1,000 people. The town had several businesses, including a hotel, a bank, a general store, a blacksmith shop, and a cotton gin.
