Celeste Summary

Celeste is a small town located in Hunt County, Texas, United States. It is situated about 75 miles northeast of Dallas and is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The population of Celeste was 1,093 at the 2010 census.

History

Celeste was founded in 1881 by a group of settlers from Celeste, Tennessee. The town was named after the Tennessee town, which was named after the daughter of a local Indian chief. The first post office was established in 1882.
