McBee is located at 34°37'45" North, 79°59'45" West (34.629, -79.996). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all of it land.

McBee is a small rural town with a limited economy. The town is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a pharmacy, and a few restaurants.
