Gaston Summary

Gaston, South Carolina is a small town located in Lexington County, South Carolina. It is situated along the banks of the Saluda River, approximately 20 miles northwest of Columbia, the state capital. The town was founded in 1891 and named after the Gaston family, who were prominent landowners in the area. The population of Gaston was 1,845 as of the 2010 census.

Geography

Gaston is located at 33°59'N 81°17'W (33.983, -81.283). According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all of it land.
