Weston Summary

Weston, Missouri is a small city located in Platte County, Missouri, United States. It is situated on the Missouri River, approximately 25 miles north of Kansas City. The city has a population of 2,099 as of the 2010 census.

History

Weston was founded in 1837 by a group of settlers from Kentucky and Virginia. The city was named after the town of Weston, Virginia, which was the hometown of one of the settlers. The city was incorporated in 1857.
In the late 19th century, Weston was a popular destination for steamboat travel. The city was also home to a number of businesses, including a flour mill, a sawmill, a brickyard, and a distillery.
In the early 20th century, Weston was a popular tourist destination. The city was home to a number of resorts, including the Weston Hotel, which was built in 1891. The hotel was destroyed by fire in 1921.

Weston is located at 39°20'45" North, 94°37'45" West (39.3458, -94.6294). The city is situated on the Missouri River, approximately 25 miles north of Kansas City.
