Geography

Orrick is located at 39°25'45"N, 94°2'45"W (39.4292, -94.0459). It is situated on the banks of the Missouri River, approximately 30 miles north of Kansas City. The town is located in Ray County, Missouri, and is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. The total area of Orrick is 0.7 square miles, all of which is land.

Climate

Orrick has a humid continental climate, with hot, humid summers and cold, dry winters. The average annual temperature is 54°F, with an average high of 79°F in July and an average low of 28°F in January. The average annual precipitation is 38.5 inches, with an average of 4.5 inches of snowfall per year.

Demographics

As of the 2010 census, the population of Orrick was 845, with a population density of 1,200 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the town was 97.2% White, 0.6% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 1.8% from two or more races.
