Conway Summary

Conway, Missouri is a small town located in Laclede County, Missouri. It is situated in the Ozark Mountains, approximately 30 miles south of Springfield. The town was founded in 1883 and has a population of approximately 1,000 people.

History

The town of Conway was founded in 1883 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Lebanon. The settlers were looking for a place to settle and start a new life. The town was named after the first settler, John Conway. The town was originally a farming community, but soon began to grow and develop. By the early 1900s, the town had a post office, a general store, a blacksmith shop, and a school.
In the early 1900s, the town began to experience a period of growth and development. The town was connected to the railroad in 1906, which allowed for the transportation of goods and services to and from the town. This allowed for the growth of businesses and industries in the area. The town also experienced a period of growth during the Great Depression, when many people moved to the area in search of work.
