History

Lebanon Junction was founded in 1871 by the Louisville and Nashville Railroad. The city was named after the nearby Lebanon Station, which was named after the biblical city of Lebanon. The city was incorporated in 1883.
In the early 1900s, Lebanon Junction was a thriving railroad town. The city was home to several businesses, including a hotel, a bank, a post office, a general store, and a blacksmith shop. The city also had a school, a church, and a movie theater.
In the 1950s, the railroad industry began to decline and the city's population began to decline as well. The city's economy shifted to focus on agriculture and small businesses.
