Pinehurst Summary

Pinehurst is a small city located in the state of Georgia, United States. It is situated in the county of Spalding and is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The city has a population of approximately 2,000 people and is located about 40 miles south of Atlanta.

History

Pinehurst was founded in 1883 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Griffin. The settlers were looking for a place to settle and start a new life. The town was named after the pine trees that grew in the area. The first post office was established in 1884 and the town was incorporated in 1887.
