Shelbyville, Missouri is a small town located in Shelby County, Missouri. It is situated in the northeast corner of the state, about 30 miles from the Mississippi River. The town was founded in 1837 and is named after the county, which was named after the Revolutionary War hero, Isaac Shelby. The population of Shelbyville was 1,093 at the 2010 census.

Geography

Shelbyville is located at 39°25'45" North, 91°17'45" West (39.429167, -91.295833). It is situated in the northeast corner of the state, about 30 miles from the Mississippi River. The town is located in the Ozark Plateau region of Missouri, and is surrounded by rolling hills and wooded areas. The town is located on the banks of the North Fork of the White River, which is a tributary of the Mississippi River.
