Puxico is a small town located in Stoddard County, Missouri, United States. It is situated in the southeastern corner of the state, about 20 miles from the Arkansas border. The population was 1,072 at the 2010 census.
History
Puxico was founded in 1883 by the Stoddard County Railroad Company. The town was named after the Puxico Creek, which runs through the area. The creek was named after a Native American chief who lived in the area.

The racial makeup of the town was 97.2% White, 0.7% African American, 0.3% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 0.3% from other races, and 1.2% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.2% of the population.
There were 441 households, out of which 28.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.2% were married couples living together, 11.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.2% were non-families. 32.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 16.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 3.04.
In the town, the population was spread out, with 25.2% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 22.7% from 45 to 64, and 18.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females, there were 87.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 81.2 males.
