Eagleville Summary

Eagleville is a small town located in the northwest corner of Harrison County, Missouri. It is situated on the banks of the Missouri River, and is surrounded by rolling hills and farmland. The town was founded in 1837 and has a population of approximately 500 people.

History

Eagleville was founded in 1837 by a group of settlers from Kentucky and Tennessee. The town was named after the eagle that was seen flying over the area when the settlers first arrived. The town was originally a trading post and a stop on the stagecoach route between St. Louis and Kansas City.
In the late 1800s, Eagleville became a popular destination for tourists and hunters. The town was known for its excellent hunting and fishing, and it was also a popular spot for camping and picnicking.
In the early 1900s, the town began to decline as the railroad bypassed it and the stagecoach route was discontinued. The population of Eagleville dropped to just over 200 people by the 1950s.
