Sloan Summary

Sloan is a small city located in Woodbury County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,845 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Sioux City, IA–NE–SD Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

Sloan was founded in 1887 by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad. The city was named after the railroad's president, William Sloan. The first post office in Sloan was established in 1888.

Economy
