Minden Summary

History

The city of Minden, Iowa is located in the southwestern corner of the state, in Pottawattamie County. It was founded in 1854 by a group of settlers from Minden, Germany, who were looking for a place to settle and start a new life. The town was originally called Mindenville, but the name was changed to Minden in 1856.
