Carson Summary

Carson, Iowa is a small town located in Pottawattamie County in the southwestern corner of the state. It is situated along the Missouri River, just north of the city of Council Bluffs. The town was founded in 1854 and has a population of just over 500 people.

History

Carson was founded in 1854 by a group of settlers from Ohio. The town was named after the Carson family, who were among the first settlers. The town was originally a farming community, but it soon became a trading post for the surrounding area. In 1856, the first post office was established in Carson.
In the late 19th century, Carson was a thriving community with a variety of businesses, including a hotel, a bank, a general store, a blacksmith shop, and a sawmill. The town also had a school, a church, and a newspaper.
In the early 20th century, Carson experienced a period of growth and prosperity. The town was connected to the railroad in 1910, and the population grew to over 1,000 people. The town also had a variety of businesses, including a movie theater, a bowling alley, and a variety of stores.
