Royston is a city located in Franklin County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,837 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Athens-Clarke County, Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area.

History

The area that is now Royston was first settled in the early 1800s. The city was named after a local family, the Roystons, who owned a large amount of land in the area. The city was officially incorporated in 1874.

The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 3.03.
