Plainville Summary

Plainville is a small town located in the state of Georgia, United States. It is situated in the northwest corner of the state, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The town is located in the county of Gordon, and is part of the Dalton-Whitfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of Plainville was estimated to be 1,845 in the year 2020.

History

Plainville was founded in 1845 by a group of settlers from North Carolina. The town was named after the nearby Plainville Creek, which was named for its flat terrain.
