Meigs, Georgia is a small town located in Thomas County, Georgia. It is situated on the banks of the Ochlockonee River, about 20 miles south of Thomasville. The town was founded in 1837 and named after General Return Jonathan Meigs, who served as the fourth Governor of the state of Georgia.
