History
Doerun was founded in 1891 by the Doerun Land Company. The town was named after the Doerun family, who were among the first settlers in the area. The town was incorporated in 1895.
Doerun was a thriving agricultural community in the early 20th century. The town was home to several cotton gins, a sawmill, and a grist mill. The town also had a hotel, a bank, and a post office.
