Geography

Cobbtown is located in the southeastern part of Georgia, in Tattnall County. It is situated at the intersection of US Highway 301 and Georgia State Route 57. The town is surrounded by the Altamaha River to the east, the Ocmulgee River to the west, and the Ohoopee River to the south. The town is located in a rural area, with the nearest major city being Savannah, which is about 50 miles away.
The town has a total area of 0.7 square miles, all of which is land. The terrain is mostly flat, with some rolling hills. The climate is humid subtropical, with hot summers and mild winters.

History

Cobbtown was founded in 1820 by a group of settlers from North Carolina. The town was named after the Cobb family, who were among the first settlers. The town was originally a farming community, and the main crops grown were cotton, corn, and tobacco.
