Aragon Summary

Aragon, Georgia is a small town located in Polk County, in the northwest corner of the state. It is situated along the Etowah River, and is part of the Rome-Summerville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town has a population of 1,845, according to the 2010 census.

History

Aragon was founded in 1832 by a group of settlers from North Carolina. The town was named after the Spanish province of Aragon, and was originally known as Aragon Station. The town was incorporated in 1887, and the first post office was established in 1891.
