Hyde Park is a small city located in Cache County, Utah, United States. It is part of the Logan, Utah-Idaho Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 5,314 at the 2010 census, up from 3,844 at the 2000 census.

History

Hyde Park was first settled in 1859 by a group of Mormon pioneers led by William Hyde. The town was named after Hyde, who was a prominent leader in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The town was incorporated in 1877 and has since grown to become a thriving community.

Geography

Hyde Park is located at 41°45'17" North, 111°50'17" West (41.754722, -111.838333). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.2 square miles (10.8 km2), all of it land.

Economy

Hyde Park's economy is largely based on agriculture and manufacturing. The city is home to several large agricultural operations, including dairy farms, beef cattle ranches, and vegetable farms. The city also has several manufacturing plants, including a plastics factory and a metal fabrication plant.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3,844 people, 1,323 households, and 1,039 families residing in the city. The population density was 919.2 people per square mile (354.3/km2).
