Wyoming, Iowa is a small city located in Jones County, Iowa, United States. It is situated along the Wapsipinicon River, approximately 20 miles east of Cedar Rapids. The population was 1,845 at the 2010 census.

History

Wyoming was founded in 1854 by a group of settlers from New York. The town was named after Wyoming County, New York, where many of the settlers had previously lived. The first post office was established in 1855.
The town grew rapidly in the late 19th century, and by 1900, it had a population of 1,093. The town was incorporated in 1901.

Wyoming is located at 42°14'17" North, 91°25'45" West (42.238, -91.429). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.2 square miles (3.1 km2), all of it land.
