Vining Summary
Vining is a small city located in the state of Iowa, in the United States. It is situated in the northwest corner of the state, in the county of Winnebago. The city has a population of approximately 1,000 people, and is part of the Mason City Micropolitan Statistical Area.
History
Vining was founded in 1856 by a group of settlers from New York. The city was named after the nearby Vining Creek, which was named after a local settler, John Vining. The city was incorporated in 1876, and the first mayor was elected in 1877.
