Ventura Summary

Ventura, Iowa is a small city located in Benton County, Iowa. It is situated on the banks of the Cedar River and is home to a population of approximately 2,000 people. The city is known for its historic downtown area, which is home to a variety of shops, restaurants, and other businesses.

History

Ventura was founded in 1855 by a group of settlers from New York. The city was named after the Spanish word for “wind”, as the settlers were impressed by the strong winds that blew through the area. The city was incorporated in 1876 and quickly grew to become a thriving community.
