History
Oxford Junction was founded in 1854 by a group of settlers from Oxford, England. The town was originally named Oxford, but the name was changed to Oxford Junction in 1856 when the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad built a line through the town. The railroad was a major factor in the growth of the town, as it provided a means of transportation for goods and people.
The town was incorporated in 1872 and the first mayor was elected in 1873. The town grew steadily throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and by the 1950s it had a population of over 1,000.

Oxford Junction is located at 42°14'17" North, 91°25'45" West (42.238, -91.429). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.7 square miles (1.8 km2), all of it land.

Oxford Junction is a small, rural community with a primarily agricultural economy. The town is home to several small businesses, including a grocery store, a hardware store, a restaurant, and a bank. The town also has a post office and a library.

As of the census of 2010, there were 545 people, 221 households, and 149 families residing in the city. The population density was 778.6 people per square mile (301.3/km2). There were 241 housing units at an average density of 344.3 per square mile (132.9/km2). The racial makeup of the city was 97.3% White, 0.2% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.4% from other races, and 1.5% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.1% of the population.
