History

The town of Melcher Dallas was founded in 1881 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Knoxville. The town was named after two of the settlers, Melcher and Dallas. The town was originally a farming community, but in the early 1900s, the town began to grow and develop. The first school was built in 1883 and the first church was built in 1885.
In the early 1900s, the town began to develop further with the construction of a railroad line and the opening of a post office. The town also had a bank, a hotel, a general store, and a blacksmith shop.
