Low Moor is a small unincorporated community located in the state of Iowa, United States. It is situated in the western part of the state, in the county of Clayton. The population of Low Moor was estimated to be around 200 people in the year 2000. The town is known for its rural charm and its close proximity to the Mississippi River.

History

Low Moor was founded in 1854 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Guttenberg. The settlers were looking for a place to settle and start a new life. The town was named after the nearby low-lying moorland. The first settlers built a log cabin and a small store.
