History

The area that is now Cincinnati was first settled in 1845 by a group of settlers from Ohio. The town was originally known as “Ohio City”, but was later renamed to Cincinnati in 1851. The name was chosen in honor of the city of Cincinnati, Ohio, which was the hometown of many of the settlers.
The town was officially incorporated in 1856, and the first post office was established in 1857.
