Andrew is a small city located in Jackson County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,093 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Maquoketa Micropolitan Statistical Area.
History
The city of Andrew was founded in 1856 by a group of settlers from Ohio. The city was named after Andrew Jackson, the seventh president of the United States. The first post office was established in 1857.
In 1858, the first school was built in Andrew. The first church was built in 1859. The first newspaper, the Andrew Herald, was established in 1867.

Andrew is located at 42°2′17″N 90°45′17″W (42.038, -90.754). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.77 square miles (1.99 km2), all of it land.

The economy of Andrew is largely based on agriculture. The city is home to several farms and agricultural businesses.

The racial makeup of the city was 98.2% White, 0.2% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.2% from other races, and 0.9% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.7% of the population.
There were 441 households, out of which 30.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.2% were married couples living together, 8.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.2% were non-families. 28.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 3.05.
In the city, the population was spread out, with 25.7% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 25.7% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 17.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females, there were 94.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.2 males.
