Sunbright Summary

Sunbright is a small town located in Morgan County, Tennessee. It is situated in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains, and is part of the Appalachian region. The town has a population of approximately 1,000 people, and is known for its rural charm and friendly atmosphere.

History

Sunbright was founded in 1883 by a group of settlers from North Carolina. The town was named after the sun-drenched hills that surrounded it. The settlers were attracted to the area due to its abundance of natural resources, including timber, coal, and iron ore. The town quickly grew, and by the early 1900s, it had become a thriving community.
The town was home to several businesses, including a sawmill, a gristmill, and a general store. The town also had a post office, a bank, and a hotel. In the early 1900s, the town was also home to a number of churches, including the Methodist, Baptist, and Presbyterian denominations.
In the 1920s, the town began to decline due to the Great Depression. Many of the businesses closed, and the population began to dwindle. However, the town was able to survive, and by the 1950s, it had begun to experience a resurgence.
