St Francis Summary

Francis, Kansas is a small town located in the northeast corner of Kansas, in the county of Osage. It is situated on the banks of the Marais des Cygnes River, and is surrounded by rolling hills and farmland. History

Francis was founded in 1867 by a group of settlers from Ohio. The town was named after St. Francis of Assisi, and was originally known as St. Francis. The town was incorporated in 1872, and the first post office was established in 1873.
