South Haven Summary

History

South Haven, Kansas is a small town located in the south-central part of the state. It is situated in the Arkansas River Valley, and is part of the Wichita metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1871 by a group of settlers from Ohio, and was originally known as “Ohio City”. The town was renamed South Haven in 1873, and has been a part of the state of Kansas since its admission to the Union in 1861.
