LeRoy Summary

Leroy is a small town located in the state of Kansas, in the United States. It is situated in the south-central part of the state, in the county of Anderson. The town has a population of around 500 people, and is located about 25 miles south of the city of Garnett.

History

Leroy was founded in 1871 by a group of settlers from the nearby town of Garnett. The town was named after a local settler, Leroy Smith. The town was originally a farming community, and the main crops grown were wheat, corn, and oats. The town also had a small sawmill, which provided lumber for the local area.
In the late 19th century, the town began to grow and prosper. A post office was established in 1887, and a school was built in 1889. The town also had a bank, a hotel, and several stores.
