Leonardville Summary
Leonardville is a small city located in Riley County, Kansas, United States. It is situated in the Flint Hills region of the state, approximately 10 miles (16 km) south of Manhattan. The population was 545 at the 2010 census.
History
Leonardville was founded in 1871 by Leonard and Mary Ann (Henderson) Leonard. The town was named after the Leonards, who were among the first settlers in the area. The town was incorporated in 1887.
In the early days, Leonardville was a bustling agricultural center, with a variety of businesses and services. The town was home to a flour mill, a creamery, a blacksmith shop, a livery stable, a hotel, a bank, a newspaper, and several churches.

Leonardville is located at 39°14'17" North, 96°37'45" West (39.238, -96.629). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.6 km2), all of it land.

The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.13.
In the city, the population was spread out, with 28.2% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 21.3% from 45 to 64, and 15.6% who were 65 years of age or older.
