History

Edna was founded in 1871, and was named after the daughter of one of the original settlers. The town was originally a farming community, and the first post office was established in 1872. In the early 1900s, the town began to grow, and several businesses were established, including a bank, a hotel, and a newspaper.
In the 1950s, the town began to decline, as many of the businesses closed and the population began to decline.
